Tabular alumina
Tabular alumina is a kind of pure sintered corundum, which is sintered and completely shrink without adding any additive, such as MgO or B2O3,with coarse crystals and well-developed Al2O3 crystal structure. The tabular crystal structure is characterized by narrow pores, with more closed porosity, almost the same apparent porosity compare with fused corundum ,high purity, good stability volume density, tiny refiring shrink. After high temperature treatment, tabular alumina is used for refractories and castable characterized by good thermal shock stability and flexural strength.
